Tai Chi in South Wellington
The Mid Island Tai Chi club has offered to try to start a Tai Chi class at the South Wellington hall. They volunteer the service and payment is by donation. A suggested donation might be around $5 but it is by donation only. The money is to pay for the hall and some expenses.
SWACA has offered to help start the lessons. We have reserved and paid for the hall for Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 for six lessons, starting on Jan. 25.
This is for "beginners and those who may have previously done some Tai Chi". After the six week period we will see if there is enough interest to keep it going.
A big thank you to Mid Island Tai Chi Club members for your generosity in the last few years, to provide fresh food for kids attending Georgia Avenue Elementary School in Nanaimo. The Club also recently donated another $250 for the school's Christmas hamper program, as well as $250 to SPCA.
To ensure that all our classes and workshops are accessible to everyone, Mid-Island Tai Chi Club has a by-donation policy. Some students opt to donate an amount each time they drop in, whereas others donate once a month regardless of how many and what type of classes they attend.
Mid-Island Tai Chi Club - Nanaimo - is the first local club in the Canadian Tai Chi Academy that is sustained through donations.
